Not so difficult really if people research the requirements before coming.. Thai embassies and consulates are among the most helpful and accommodating in issuing visas.

I totally agree David. Have lived here 36 years and never had a problem dealing with Thailands requirements.. Those requitements are much easier than many western countries..

Thai law does not have or recognise trusts. Need to make a Thai will.

Exactly agree... Weve been here 36 years..and been thru many rounds of changes by immigration and other rules... Technically for driving test you must go personally - so agents are "circumventing" the rules.. With immigration whats the problem going to do it by ourrselves... It is Easy...!! So many people do not realise that Agents are there to get paid... but actually there services are not required or they are doing something wrong...which in the end the customer will be penalised for...

My friend visiting from Poland wanted to extrnd his Visa on Arrival. Yesterday he went to Immigration and it was completed in 10 minutes. He received a 30 day extension for 1,900- baht.. His first experience at Immigration. He said it was easy. and No agent.

What you do is up to you! Isnt it! Dont force your ideas on others.! Weve never had a problem in 30+ years dealing direct with Immigration. And have seen many times people have problems with 'agents'. Thats how its possible.🙄

I dont understand this fixation and recommendations to use Agents..

The process is quite simple and you can get the correct advice at an immigration office..

In the past when Immigration has cracked-down on agents for various "activities" outside the real rules; then the Visa holder /customer is held liable if you have the wrong visa or it was obtained by "questionable" means.!! Your Visa is your responsibility, please check with immigration direct.

even branches of the same bank have different 'understandings' of the rules! Just keep trying different banks and different branches till one says yes!.. just like you did ! well done.👍
