With your welding skills, if certified look for overseas work, oil rigs, oil fields, construction supervisor positions, start at the bottom in an overseas position, make good money, then go back and forth to Thailand or Philippines. Make a plan set your goals that way you are set up for the rest of your life happy and secure. Just jumping ship because you are disgusted may put you in a bad situation in life….on that note Thailand ain’t all that….(I’m not and English major)

Honestly it ticks me off a bit, I’m in and out of Thailand supporting my family for over twenty years, put kids through college, yet still have to jump through hoops to live with my family. Insane.

I would think everything being computerized this should be an easy fix, maybe a bit time consuming.

Welp my wife works, so over the years when I’m home in Thailand I do laundry, clean and cook and I work the farm. Big difference between the country life and city life where there are more conveniences

@Graham *****
I realize the initial 90 day is not a multiple entry, however this from Siam -legal.com

For marriage visa.

“Re-entry Permit

If you plan to travel in and out of Thailand during the year of your visa validity, you will need a multiple re-entry permit to do so and to avoid your visa from getting canceled. If you plan to stay in Thailand for the duration of your visa, no such permit is required.

If you need to leave the country quickly for whatever reason, you can apply for a re-entry permit at the nearest immigration office or at an international airport before leaving the country.”

@Graham *****
wait so when I apply for the marriage VISA while in country, I can’t make it a multiple entry type of VISA?

Best way to do this is put, about $11,000 into your American Bank account, apply for a 90 day VISA. Go to Thailand open a bank account with Bangkok Bank in your name, then apply for a multi entry marriage Visa, transfer 400,000 baht to Bangkok bank for yearly renewal and as another has stated check immigration website for exact info…

Yup, I did everything on my own it was about a 1hr 30 min process at Bangkok Bank, needed SSN, IDs passport, letter from immigration, filled out a tax form, then gave blood, finger printed, did a retina scan, DNA test on the spot, sung the national anthem. Ok not the last part but man it took a while, just go with the flow.

On another note maybe taking the landlord to lunch and then immigration with the appropriate paperwork would solve the problem.
