I had to show bank statements now when I just applied for Non-O, plus affidavit from my embassy stating how much I earn, what I am doing to earn the money etc. Not to mention the ton of other paperwork. That said, I am South African and they are giving us a lot of shit lately for some reason... The lady told us that they don't mind the balance, just need to see that the money is coming in every month. I would say, take it with and if they ask for it you can give it.
Just curious about this income thing, if someone is working in Thailand legally, why would they change their visa to Non-O based on marriage? Would there be some benefit to it?

Yes, that is what I did and when I was at foreign affairs today to certify the documents and translations they said I need to send it to the Thai embassy in my country first, get it stamped and then they will do this. Some new rule I think that started in March for South africans. Don't know what we did to make them not trust our country... ☺
