Hi. When it says pensioner 50 above and with a state pension do you really have to have a state pension to apply for this visa? I am 58 but am not a pensioner and do not have a state pension yet but I have 800,000 plus baht in my bank account and other regular income. Would I be eligible to apply for this visa? I do not qualify for the DTV.
This might help Chang others and me? If Chang has his bank account in Pattaya where he got the Non O then how does he show the 800,000 and paper work from the bank when it comes to the yearly extension in CM as his bank account is in Pattaya and not in CM? Also If he opens a new bank account in CM then how do you get the 800,000 there without breaking the time it all needs to be in the bank for the extension?
Hi. Thanks for all your info. If I come on VEE 60 days and use an agent to open my bank account and I deposit my own 800,000 and then apply for the non 0 90 days straight away? Or is there an amount of time you have to wait until so many days left on your VEE before applying for the non O? So once I get the non O 90 days stamp that superseeds my VEE stamp right and gives me 90 days non O and I have the 2 months to let my 800,000 be there and then enough time to apply for the 1 year extension of the non O after the 2 months right? Thanks for your help in advance.
Thanks for all your info that’s really helpful and the calculation is good too. Unfortunately I have lived in Thailand for many years so will only complete 16 years but better than nothing.
Thanks for your comment. If you have more information please share as I am sure many Kiwis would like to live and retire in Thailand on full NZ Govt Super.
As I am also considering retiring in Thailand I called the International Services at work and income in NZ 0800777227 but as I am not at 65 years yet they will not give any details about if you can receive the Govt NZ Super if you choose to live in Thailand after retirement. Of course you can get it if NZ has an SSA ( Social Security Agreement ) as in countries like Canada , Ireland etc. However Thailand does not have a SSA with NZ. So once you turn 65 and are approved the NZ Super then you can call the 0800 number above and talk to the Testing Team to see if you meet certain criteria to live in Thailand and receive your NZ Super too.

Just be aware if you choose the Thailand option then you can not stay over 6 months at anytime and still receive the NZ Govt pension. You have to do a day under 6 months then home in NZ 6 months then you can go back again for just under 6 months. So if you want to live there permanently in Thailand you have to forgo the Govt Pension.
Thanks. I would like to do both my licenses too. Do you just go there and on that days start the process or do you have to register and then wait to be told when you can start the process? Do you know of specific sites to find the question and answers to the test questions. Re alcohol question which one did you answer by the way.
