Andreas Mueller Well if that's the case they would be no need for a tm30 if your father in law (technically) refused to do a simple task as doing a TM30 for you then your on a loser straight away so go and stop in a hotel somewhere else..

Yes you maybe correct but should the say unfortunate thing happen you would just apply for a extension of stay with Thai family and apply for your thai marriage visa..

Why bother changing it over just stay on your work visa less hassle and you'll save our self a few baht...

Peter Nelson Yes by law they have to Peter,If your just here on your holidays I wouldn't worry about it,A TM30 is a certificate of residency issued at immigration but once you have done the first one you can do on line everytime you stay away from your home within Thailand, IO will be immigration officer.Hope that helped mate..

Once your in Thailand you can if you wish convert your retirement non O to a marriage visa but you'll have to book a visit to the british embassy in bangkok,Than get a affirmation of marital status and copy of your British passport signed and certified with stamp and stickers once you have them get them translated into Thai..When you get them back from ministry of foreign affairs goto your local district office and get married..Once you have done all that go back to immigration and start applying to change from retirement to marriage...๐Ÿ™‚๐Ÿ™‚๐Ÿ™‚Retirement way is much easier but you'll need more money in bank or a monthly income,Yes marriage one needs a lot more paperwork doing but it's not that hard if you just sit down and go through it all one bit at a time..Just done my first one and had no problems at all..๐Ÿ™‚

We'll by that question I'd say your marriage visa would be a scam eh, you would marry your thai partner because you love them not because it's the easiest visa to get..

I know 100% you do for 90 reporting John,Am old school so just went to immigration and got the TM30 all sorted there it only took 10mins,Staff are really helpful

Eric Duggan Eric they will know what a TM30 is mate it's wrote out in Thai and English.The house book is her baan book she'll know what it is its the book where everyone living at that address is registered via the local district office(ampher)..
