I was between getting a visa here or in KL but KL asked for payment proof of accommodation and tax number of the hotel which made it rather difficult. Yes, obtaining a visa in Singapore takes time, so it's not for those who want it quick, but certainly an option to those who are planning a longer stay in Singapore.

you had to wait 2 weeks in KL til you got your visa approved? For real? I thought it's only 2 days. 😬

how long is that ago when you applied? The website of the Thai embassy in KL also claims it needs the tax ID (see point 6) of the hotel which is not on the Agoda booking.

Agoda booking and proof of payment for a hotel are 2 different things. I just wonder if Agoda booking is enough (with the pay later option) or if they actually want to see that the amount for 60 night hotel reservation was deducted from my credit card.

I second that, moving between BKK, KL & Singapore and don't have issues. Love each of these places. The easiest to solve your immigration issues is by basing yourself multiple places. Make friends with other nomads so you can swap condos everytime and your rental expenses stays low.
