TLDR : Answer Summary
The query seeks information on experiences of applying for a tourist visa at the Thailand embassy in Penang, Malaysia. A comment suggests that applying in Kuala Lumpur may be more efficient, as one individual received their visa within 24 hours from there.

KL would be much better and efficient I just got one from there in 24 Hours .
I was approved two weeks after submitting. I am not quite sure why they state for “whole period of stay”, I’ve heard from other people they only showed proof for a certain number of days of their stay same as well and they were approved.
I applied for my TR Visa on April 24th, 2023. I reserved an hotel for 15 days and I took a screenshot of my Agoda reservation email which showed my full name, dates I’m staying and hotel name and address in the the screenshot.
how long is that ago when you applied? The website of the Thai embassy in KL also claims it needs the tax ID (see point 6) of the hotel which is not on the Agoda booking.
as long as you show proof of reservation for your stay in Thailand, you’re fine. I uploaded a 15 day stay reservation (wasn’t fully paid, only reserved pay later option) and my TR Visa was still approved. They just want to see proof you actually have or plan to have accommodation in Thailand, you don’t need to fully pay. The email you receive from Agoda is enough

Agoda booking and proof of payment for a hotel are 2 different things. I just wonder if Agoda booking is enough (with the pay later option) or if they actually want to see that the amount for 60 night hotel reservation was deducted from my credit card.

You should prepare these docs in advance for swift process otherwise they will send away , I like the place because they are clear and I did get sent away but with proper docs it’s 24 hours don’t go on a friday
