Do I need to report in person for my first 90-day visa report after returning to Thailand on a Non-O retirement visa?

Quick question: I’m living in BKK on a Non O retirement visa, currently in my first one year extension. I left Thailand after about 45 days into my extension, thereby putting off my first 90 day reporting, till 90 days after my return into Thailand (effectively about 150 days after my extension went into effect).

Will that reporting still be considered my first report, and therefore I will have to do it in person, at the appropriate immigration office, here in BKK? Or by some stroke of luck, since I left the country and came back, I am now eligible for an online reporting?

TLDR : Answer Summary
You need to report in person for your first 90-day report after your Non-O retirement visa extension, as it is considered the first report in a series. Even though you left Thailand and returned, the nature of your reporting doesn't change, and it must be done at the local immigration office in person.

Under the current system, you have to do a 90-day report in person at the local immigration office in case of:

- the very first report of the series of initial visa and extensions

- when changed to the new passport

- when travelling back from abroad

Yes, it would be the first 90-day report for your Non-O based on retirement and the following extension(s). After the actual consecutive 90 days in Thailand for the first time is the "first" 90-day report due.

Also, currently, the first 90-day report after travel back from abroad (you left the country and came back) has to be done in person at the local immigration office, even if it's the 2nd or 10th report.

You can try online reporting first anyway. If not approved, you just go to the immigration office to report in person.

Thank you for your explanation.

Just to confirm:

For a person who has a retirement visa and a re-entry stamp - if he goes overseas and comes back to Thailand, he doesn’t need to go to the immigration office within the first few days in Thailand in order to tell them that he just came back from overseas?

He just needs to report that he’s in Thailand AFTER 90 days since his arrival, which should be a regular 90 days reporting?
