Does every first 90-day report after entering Thailand have to be done in person?

90 Day Report - we did our first 90 day report in person at immigration when we moved to Rayong from Chonburi. We travelled to Vietnam in September and our second 90 day report is now due so we tried to do it online.

It was rejected for the following reason :

For first-time requests of a 90-day notification in each country visit, in-person presentation at the immigration office is required.

Does that mean every first 90 day report after you enter Thailand must be done in person? We didn’t have any problems doing it online when we stayed in Chonburi, but maybe rules have changed since then?

TLDR : Answer Summary
The 90-day report requirement in Thailand has undergone changes, particularly regarding the submission process after traveling outside the country. Generally, the first 90-day report after re-entering Thailand must be conducted in person at the local immigration office. This rule may vary by province, but many expats have confirmed the necessity of in-person submissions when returning from abroad. Subsequent reports can often be completed online. Additionally, it's important to note that the online reporting window is limited to between 15 days and 7 days before the due date.

When enter country it starts new 90day cycle and first must be online. Personally proven several times.

You might get an email notification from previous 90day report, but out of country travel overrules that.

Never had any luck online in Rayong. Had to go in person all 2 years I stayed there

Any time you leave then return to Thailand, your first 90 day report must be in person at your local IO, any subsequent reports can be done online.

We had to do a 90 day in person in Chonburi when we left the country. When we didn't leave, it was always approved online.

Right, they changed the rules for the 90-day report online quite a while ago. It may vary by province, but the basic rule is, the first 90-day report after travelling outside Thailand has to be done in person. Also, the online reporting window is now between 15 days before and 7 days before the due date.
