Why was my 90-day online report rejected despite having a marriage visa extension under consideration?

I've had my 90 day on line refused. I haven't been out of the country, it's in the alloted time, but I have a marriage visa extension 'under consideration'. Is that likely to be the reason?

TLDR : Answer Summary
The user faced a rejection for their 90-day online reporting, despite having a marriage visa extension under consideration and not having left the country. Comments suggest the rejection could stem from various factors including errors in name or address formatting, or the timing of the application. Others share experiences of similar rejections and recommend visiting immigration in person for clarification, especially since some users have encountered inconsistent reasons given for their rejections.

Tod, I have not had my first 90 day reporting yet but based on what you just wrote, I imagine I may have problems. My TM 30 was half in English half in Thai the way it was done and I don’t know what the immigration officer put in the system when I went in last week to get a COR to open a bank, but since I have to do my first 90 day reporting in person, is this something they can fix (in their system) to make sure that I can report future 90 day reportings in English on the website? Obviously, I don’t speak Thai so I don’t want to be forced to go to immigration more than the Initial time if I don’t have to.

Separately, for Bangkok, are there no local offices that do 90 day reporting? Do we always have to go to Chaeng Wattana when there’s an issue? Thanks.

, When you go to submit the first 90-day report in person, you can ask the officer whether you can do 90-day report online next time, and if you can, how to put the address exactly. They speak legit English and tell you how to write.

I actually once asked the officer when my report online was rejected and went to do it in person, "how can I write the address so that my online reporting can be approved?" with the failed TM47 form I printed and brought in. She checked my form and corrected the address by her handwriting.

Q. are there no local offices that do 90 day reporting? Do we always have to go to Chaeng Wattana when there’s an issue? Thanks.

At no other office you can do a 90-day report in person other than where your extension has been issued in Bangkok. You must go to CW if you got an extension there. Those who get their extensions at One Bangkok, they go to the One Bangkok office. You cannot switch on your own.

One additional question Ellie. If the whole point of the 90 day reporting is to declare where you are at a given moment within Thailand, won’t there be times when you might be traveling that you would be reporting from a different address? Say, if you were traveling to Chiang Mai and were in a hotel there, wouldn’t that be the address and TM 30 you would upload into the automated system at that time? So does the matching to your registered residence for online filing only matter when you are actually at your residence at the time of the 90 day reporting? At other times does the system just accept that you’re at a different location or does that occasionally cause problems as well? Thanks

Thanks Ellie. As I’m new to this, what is One Bangkok? Is it a different government office or is it an agency? Since I have yet to extend, if I have a closer choice, I’d like to do it. I just don’t know what One Bangkok is?

So-called One Bangkok here is TIESC or OSS, a different government office at One Bangkok malls. It serves BOI-related or specified cases only.

You don't have a choice. You will go to the specific immigration office based on what kind of extension you are applying for.

You will submit TM.30 with a new address to move to another province. Then you can submit 90-day report there. My comment above is about Bangkok only.

Yeah, I have never had a successful online check in. Last attempt was "REJECTED ". When I asked why at the immigration office. She told me the system was "Down" that day. Scary thinking I might not be extended. Always best and easiest at Bluport Immigration.

Good luck to you.

I've been rejected twice, and on both occasions the reason has been written clearly in the reply email, in the line following "Your application for "STAYING LONGER THAN 90 DAYS" has been rejected."

Is there nothing there?

I did a 90 day report online without a problem last year. The next time I did it exactly the same it was rejected.

When I went to Immigration to do it in person and ask the officer why I was rejected, he had no idea.

Personally, I think it’s just luck of the draw.

I don’t even bother trying with the online report any more

this isn't your FIRST yearly marriage extension is it? I mean you're just getting another year marriage extension on an existing marriage extension you got last year right?

No one can tell you why it was rejected,.

Was it from 2 weeks before until one week before the due date?

Had you previously filed at least one 90 Day report in person?

Did you totally match the address exactly to how the tm30 is filed?

Usually an under consideration stamp for a yearly extension does not affect a 90 day report being approved or rejected

You can apply again, and see if it's rejected again or approved

I once had one rejected four times before it was approved because I was not typing the address exactly as the TM 30 had it.

"No one can tell you why it was rejected" <- That must be an office thing, because twice I've had the reason given in the rejection email: Once because they started enforcing out of country again, and once (earlier) because I submitted in response to the reminder email, even though I'd reset the clock by travelling.

But it seems not all offices are quite so helpful.

often times the email will have a rejection reason, "address not the same", "first report must be done in person", "outside application window", etc BUT many times it doesn't just says, rejected contact your immigration office and the officers usually don't know why it was rejected 🙁

The point being it's a manual system but there are still way too many staff too lazy to bother doing anything but hit the "reject" button 😁

I still laugh when I read their announcement about the upgrade:

"The Immigration Bureau announced on Monday a major upgrade to its online system for 90-day reporting. This development is expected to alleviate the chronic overcrowding at Immigration offices across the country."

I saw that too 🙁 Someone was at Chaengwattana yesterday at 10:30 to do their 90 day report and there were 189 people in the queue ahead of their number waiting as well 😕

I just had a similar experience with my 90 day report.

I had applied for my extension based on marriage.

On the date they had given me at the end of the pending period I went back in to immigration but was told that they were still waiting for authorisation from Bangkok and would call me.

A week went by and I was due to do a 90 day report. By this time my permission to stay had expired in my passport.

The Immigration officer couldn't do my 90 day report because on the system I was on overstay.

It was resolved by my new extension being stamped in and 90 day report issued.

I always do my 90 day reporting in person.

In answer:

Yes

Yes

Yes

I've just tried a 4th attempt because I've just realized that this time when entering my name, I entered my surname, but (for the first time) not my given and middle name (as they're not starred and not necessary).

Do you think that's clicked the refusal button?

Certainly could be it
@Harry *******
put your name exactly as it is on the passport, first name, middle name / initial (if there is one) surname

Get the address exactly formatted like the TM30 house number, moo (village) main street, sub soi, etc

Go slow, it's not a race, get it right, 🙂
