90 day reports with a DTV. I want to share my experience so that others may learn from it.

1. You must do your 90 day report in the province that your TM-30 address is located.

2. You have to do your report in person if you hold a DTV. There are no options for online filing, unless you have done the 6 month extension in country without leaving to reset the visa. I will explain this more below.

I recently needed to do my 2nd 90 day report while holding a DTV in Thailand. I read that after the first report in person you may submit the following reports online. This is true, however the count of reports submitted resets after every new arrival in the country. As a DTV holder, I leave every 6 months for a period of time so I will never have a 2nd 90 day report on one visit into Thailand. The 7 day grace period covers any "tight" timelines on having to do a 2nd 90 day report in 6 months.

I was traveling visiting some friends during my last reporting window and submitted online, only to be rejected. I visited the local immigration facility and it was explained to me that I needed to do the report where I live only. They were very nice and calmed my fears of problems with immigration by helping me understand the 7 day grace period after the 90 days in country that you have to file. I was home before that time was expired so everything worked out fine.

I just wanted to help anyone else that might not have gone through the 90 report process yet. Because of the slight pain of the process in my busy area now that it is high season, I might consider one of those do it for you visa services to file my next 90 day report, if they don't charge too much.

TLDR : Answer Summary
This post shares insights on the 90-day report process for DTV (Digital Nomad) visa holders in Thailand. It highlights that reports must be filed in person at the relevant provincial immigration office tied to the TM-30 address. The author describes their experience of a rejected online report due to not being in the correct location and emphasizes the importance of understanding the 7-day grace period for filings. They also consider utilizing visa services for future reports due to the complexity and busy immigration periods.

The grace period is two weeks before and 7 days after. All visa holders have to complete the first 90-day report in person, except LTR holders. People on retirement and marriage extensions can obtain a re-entry permit when they leave Thailand, which keeps their permission to stay alive. Their 90-day report still resets when they return, but they don't have to go in person. METV holders have to report in person with each new entry into Thailand. You can also do your first report by post or pay an agent, and this is because they want to see your actual documents for real before they allow you to do it online.

Well... the intention of the form TM.47 (aka 90 day report) is that the Immigration can check if your registered address is still "up to date". So... it makes kind of sense that you have to report in the province where you live, no?

You were quite lucky when you visited the imigration and asked the question, as you could have come away with a fine. Not for the 90 day report, but for the tm30. If you do the 90 day report online you are supposed to enter the address you have spent the previous night at, which should equal the most upto date tm30 so the addresses are the same, only when doing the report at an Imigration office do you have the restriction that the office must cover the area of the tm30 address and the 90 day must be the same.
