With regards to the Jakarta embassy does one just walk in there for a visa appointment? No need to book in advance?

And can a UK Passport holder make the DTV application there?

Same questions for Vientiane and Yangon.

TLDR : Answer Summary
For the Jakarta embassy, no appointment is needed for visa applications; you can walk in during business hours. UK passport holders can apply for a DTV visa there. However, both Vientiane and Yangon require appointments to be booked online to enter the consulate.

Vientiane is an appt booked online to get in the door consulate

Yangon is an appt booked online to get in the door consulate

Jakarta is a walk up one, no appt needed

You can apply at any of those consulates, you show you're legally IN the country by your visa/entry stamp and use the hotel you stay at as your in country address

thanks for the info. Can you walk into Ho Chi Minh also or is that appointment only? There doesn't seem to be any appointments available there on their calendar.

HCMC and Hanoi are mandatory appt booked online consulates, if there are no openings it means they're booked

AND

they're both switching to online eVisa applications some time in Oct too, so that means you would go to vietnam, apply online, wait for the application to be processed (they are saying it's going to be extended time maybe up to 2-4 weeks) get the approval email then come back to thailand

do you need to talk original documents with you if doing an embassy application in Jakarta? For example I would use a chanote of my condo ownership to prove accommodation. I am not flying from Thailand to Indo so there is no way for me to take the original as it is in BKK.
