I decided that I will not renew my contract with my current school in Bangkok and am resigning on February 28. My school is trying to tell me that I need to leave Thailand on the 28 of February and after I return to Thailand on a tourist visa/visa-exempt stamp, they will give me forms to cancel my work permit. From reading previous posts, I am pretty sure that they or I will need to cancel my work permit and extension of stay before February 28, so that I will not get fined for not canceling the WP. I do plan on getting another teaching job in Thailand, so I would like to do things properly. Any advice on what steps I would need to take on my own would be appreciated since my school isn't the most reliable when it comes to work permit stuff unfortunately. Thanks everyone.
