LONDON ONLINE VISA any first-hand experience would be appreciated, thank you.

Applying for a SETV (60 day visa) in london. I've completed the online application and have an appointment to go to the embassy in person.

1. will they email me to let me know if there is an issue with any of my documents?

2. do i still have to stay overnight and go back to the embassy the next day to collect my passport as we used to before?

Drive to Hull consulate and get the visa on the same day

that’s not practical if you live near London 🤷🏻‍♀️

Until you actually go to the Embassy and hand in the bar code you have printed, they have no access to your application and cannot check anything. It is next day collection, if they are not busy but can be longer. They do say to allow 2 weeks.

Even if your the only person there, it is still not a same day service

If they require any additional documents they will either tell you at the embassy when you submit your application e.g. if your bank statements do not have the right information or they will call or email you later (they are quick so they may contact you the same day).

Hi, I done mine last month.. I got the appointment for 9am at the embassy but in fact that is irrelevant as you take a ticket on arrival and wait your turn, same as before. They kept my passport and i had to collect it the following day between 11am and 12. They never emailed to say if my documents were correct so I just turned up. Took approx 30 minutes on both days. You can send your documents special delivery and pay for them to send them back to you via post.

thanks so much for your reply. so basically exactly the same as before but you have to submit everything online first...? 😂

asking for bank statements has thrown me as i don't remember having to do this for a 60 day visa before. I've read that your address must be shown on the statement - did yours show this?
