TLDR : Answer Summary
This discussion centers around the experiences and requirements for UK passport holders applying for the Digital Nomad Visa (DTV) through the Thai embassy in London. Participants share insights on needed documentation, such as utility bills or bank statements to prove UK residency, experiences with processing times (noted as quick), and additional information about applying for retirement visas. Questions arise regarding the necessity of maintaining a minimum bank balance prior to application.
hey, i am planning to apply DTV from London later this month, do you mind if i send you pm and you can share your experience... i am more interested in if i need to keep money in bank account for more than few days before applying for the visa
some embassies ask for 6 months ,some say 3 months ,,ask London embassy direct it doesnt say anything on their web page ,,maybe they have a whats up number that does answer …a non o visa only needs to be in the day you apply ,,but that’s
From my residency nation (Japan), passport country is Australia.I Think it is a standard form, nothing special for me.
ID page of my passport they asked for , (no any other or blank pages), my picture, my ID of my residency (government issued). 3 months bank report (available online,m printed and attached it) that I have 800K THB in my local account. Approved in just over 5 days, Osaka, Japan.
I applied for a work visa through a US consulate. When I called and asked about the proof of location they said a bank statement with my current address or a utility bill was sufficient.
I specifically asked about London uk .. and a DTV not a work visa ..as you know each embassy ,consulates have their own little quirks ..but thanks anyway
If you apply through the embassy/consulate in your passport nation, you could just upload the ID-page of your passport. Also driver license, utility bill or bank letter with your name and address. None of this in fact proves that you stay where you apply, but they can ask you to upload your last stamp or all passport pages including blank ones too, and in the end you’ll need to start your trip where your visa was issued.
The London embassy is otherwise known to be very effective with a two-three days processing time for visas.
things might have changed by then haha ,,, Issa can change daily haha , retirement visa is relatively easy ,,apply for the non o to start with 90 days ,,that’s the start of it ,,good luck
