Hello! I'm going to Vientiane tomorrow, but forgot to book an appontment... And the closest dates available only in about 2 weeks from now. Is it a problem?🥲 Or are there some "helpers" that can let me in without the booking? Thanks for any info! My flight is tomorrow early morning 😓

Update: I went this morning to Chaeng Watthana and it is quite far from sukhumvit. I didn’t have an appointment and the wait was about 30 mins to speak to an officer. Another 15 mins or so to get my passport back. They didn’t ask for a TM30 either.

They were advertising e-extension for TR visa EVERYWHERE. On their website you can submit the required docs and schedule your appointment beforehand and pay the extension fee (+additional service charge since it’s 3rd party). I imagine this is useful for people who just want to come in and get out asap. Overall about an hour of my time.

Do I need to book an appointment for an extension on a TR visa or can I walk in?

Which office is best for this? I normally go to Chamchuri Square for previous visa things. Is there a better location?

What paperwork do I need to make in order and bring along..and do I need to make an appointment?

Cheers 🙂.

Has anyone visited the Ministry of Foreign Affairs lately? Can you just show up or do you need an appointment online due to Covid?

My original 60 day stamp on my TR Visa expires on March 21. I know can apply for the standard 30 day extension, but I'm thinking about trying to skip the standard extension, and just apply for a 60 day ข้อ5 "Covid Extension"... I think Tod Daniels suggested I might try this (the worst that can happen is they say, "No"). My questions are:

1. Do I need to make an APPOINTMENT to request the 60-day COVID EXTENSION...?

2. I'm in Bangkok. Which immigration location should I go to, to request a covid extension... Chaengwattana or Muang Thong Thani...?

3. Besides a 4x6cm photo, copies of my passport, TR visa, entry stamp, and a completed TM.7 form, what else do I need to request the covid extension?

4. What reasons are people typically using successfully, for WHY they need a covid extension...? In my case, I'm just stuck waiting for my "entry exception document" from the Philippines, so I can re-enter via my retirement visa there... this is why I want additional time in Thailand.

Jomtien Immigration today.......

Got there at 11:35 to find a locked door and sign they are closed 11:-1 pm. Might not be new, but I didn't know.

Got back at 1, got in line, checked in and got my queue. Got called about 15 m later only to find I downloaded the wrong form from the immigration website. Double checked, correct form name, but they have the wrong form posted. Got the right form, dropped it off, was told come back in 1 hour.

Now the reason for the post........2:30 locked door. Rather Un helpful IO outside telling people they could not queue unless they had an appt. He waved me by when I showed my passport w my "pick up" number. Door was still locked. Headed in through the out door and he stopped me told me get in line. I explained door is locked, cannot. Told me again then said "check covid". Explained again door was locked and I "check covid" 1 hour ago when I dropped my paperwork. He waved me in through the out door.

As I waited for the person in front of me to finish they started letting 5 people at a time in the locked door. Saw 2 groups get let in w a line down the sidewalk.

When I left he was still outside saying appointment and checking queues, still had a line. Ran into a friend waiting to do her 90 day. Had a queue number and was sent outside to wait. Said she had been there almost 30 minutes when I left.

Inside had about 30 people waiting, about the same or a tad more outside. I have seen Jomtien much, much busier, but they seemed to be enforcing "no appointment, no entry".

Get there early or get an appt online. To quote Tod "plan accordingly" 😎

Has anyone got a 60 day tourist visa in KL before?

Is it straight forward and do I need an appointment?
