Just tried to make an application for non O "retirement visa" at Pathum Thani Immigration...was unable to even apply as the clerks told us that my 800K deposit had to be seasoned for at least two months even for a first time application. So let's add this office to those that require letter of the law seasoning....unless I am reading wrong it was usually only the Jomtien office that required seasoning.

TLDR : Answer Summary
A user attempted to apply for a Non-O retirement visa at Pathum Thani Immigration but was informed by clerks that their 800K baht deposit needed to be seasoned for at least two months before the application could proceed. This requirement seems to contrast with practices at other offices, such as Jomtien, which is known for similar seasoning rules. Community members discussed their experiences with Visas, emphasizing the importance of obtaining written documentation of requirements and visiting immigration offices ahead of time to clarify application processes.

And as ALWAYS, we suggest our members ALWAYS visit your local Thai Immigration office for their list of requirements for the Visa or Extension of Stay you wish to Apply for. . BEFORE you make an application.

Thanks All for your helpful replies.

Are you applying for the one year extension or the non-o visa

@Bob *********
he is applying for the initial 90 da Non-O

it seems a few offices require the 800K baht banked money be seasoned 2 months for that application

yep even on the 45 day visa exempt entry they have now AND the 30 day extension unless the funds HIT the bank the day you arrive you still don't have enough time on those stamps to season the funds AND have the 15 days left on the stamp needed to apply 😕 You have to bounce out and back again..

Did you get a print out of the requirements for applying for the non O there ? My experience is it’s always best to get it in writing…

Yes we did and the requirements do state the requirement of the deposit being present for 2 months, but it has been discussed in this group that the only office enforcing that to the letter of the law was Jomtien. Leave it to my luck to find probably the only other office to enforce this requirement for first time applications..

@De ******
thanx for the update, sorry you had to find out that way.

hopefully you can bounce out and back to get a free visa exempt entry for 45 days and take the 30 day extension on that if you need to so you can buy the time to season the funds and have enough time left on your stamp to apply

Jomtien is usually the only office I know that requires the 800K baht banked money to be seasoned 2 months before you apply for the initial 90 day Non-O visa

I will add P/T to the list

Was told no need for seasoning at chang wattana last week but only for initial transfer to non o

@Richard ********
that is correct and the O/P is talking about Pathum Thani NOT Chaengwattana 🙂

In Bangkok you only show the banked money was transferred in to a thai account in your name only from abroad and the funds have to be in the account on the day you apply for the 90 day Non-O visa, no seasoning required for that, the seasoning comes into effect when you get the year extension.
