TLDR : Answer Summary
The process for extending a visa in Chiang Mai typically does not require an appointment; you can register and queue at the Immigration Office located near the airport. However, there's some confusion about whether the immigration office has moved to Promenada. Additionally, users are seeking information on the documents required for a visa extension with an embassy letter.

he should show up at the main immigration building not far from the airport parking across the street. If you’re talking about the 90 day report they have a drive-through for the 90 day report I don’t know what a 90 day renewal for retirement is?
