Hi everyone, I’m currently in Hanoi and applying for the DTV as a digital nomad. I wanted to share what I’ve included in my application so far and get some feedback from anyone who’s been through the process.
My situation:
I’m the sole director of a UK-registered serviced accommodation company operating across two cities in England. The business is fully remote, with a UK-based reservations team handling day-to-day operations, along with local cleaning and maintenance teams on the ground. All income is generated in the UK, and the business runs independently of my location. I’ve made it clear that I won’t be seeking any employment in Thailand.
Financials:
The business generates consistent monthly revenue (in excess of £20k). I’ve provided both business and personal bank statements (last 3 months). I’ve also recently transferred funds into my personal account to meet the visa requirement, as most income is typically retained within the business and only withdrawn when needed.
Documents I’ve provided:
• Certificate of Incorporation (UK company)
• Companies House record (showing me as director)
• Business bank statements (3 months)
• Personal bank statements (3 months)
• Airbnb & Booking.com links + screenshots
• Company Instagram link + screenshots
My questions:
1. Is it best to submit both business and personal bank statements, or is personal sufficient?
2. The required funds have only just been transferred into my personal account - is it better to wait a bit before submitting, or is this generally fine with a clear explanation?
3. Is there anything else you’d recommend including to strengthen the application?
I would really appreciate any advice or recent experiences, especially from those who’ve been approved.
