I got approved for my DTV Visa.

This was my experience...

- Applied on Thai E-Visa Website

- Application was handled through Thai Ottawa Embassy in Canada

- I am from Trinidad and Tobago in the Caribbean, currently living in Trinidad as well.

- Applied as a Business Owner... I'm a Digital Marketer with clients.

- Application fee was $650 Canadian

I supplied:

- Drivers License to show current location

- 1 contract from a client I am working with

- my business registration which had to be validated by a Notary public & validated at my Ministry of Foreign Affairs for international use of the document

- 1 bank statement from The previous month, showing I had the 500k Bhat equivalent.

The entire process took exactly 2 weeks ...1 week of that time was waiting for my document to be validated at the ministry of foreign affairs...and they emailed me the Visa.

The process was smooth with no hiccups.

The Visa starts from the day it's approved...but your 180 day period starts from the day they stamp you into the country.

Thanks for sharing your experience. Just curious, you were able to apply for the e-visa at the consulate in Ottawa despite physically not being in Canada? I'm in this situation too. Cheers

Yes, not all countries have embassies or consultes. For example, nationals of Costa Rica and Panamá (as well foreing residents in those countries) must apply using the e-visa system but trhu the Thai Embassy in Chile. But, this is not something that you can choose, it's just handled like this for specific countries without embassies or consulates.

Yea...when you apply online...the website routes the applications to whichever embassy is responsible for that countries application.
