What should you check at immigration when entering Thailand on a Digital Nomad Visa?

Just a quick heads-up for anyone entering on a DTV (Digital Nomad Visa):

Make sure to double-check the visa stamp in your passport at immigration!

Yesterday, the officer accidentally put the wrong stamp in mine — a regular tourist visa instead of the DTV. I caught it right away, went back, and she was super nice about it and fixed it immediately.

I think they’re just so used to stamping tourist visas that it can happen by mistake. Easy to miss if you’re in a rush, so better to check before you leave the counter!

TLDR : Answer Summary
It is crucial to check the visa stamp in your passport immediately upon entering Thailand with a Digital Nomad Visa (DTV). There have been incidents where immigration officers mistakenly stamp the wrong visa type, such as a regular tourist visa instead of the DTV. Promptly addressing any errors can help avoid complications later, like overstaying. This concern applies to all who enter Thailand, emphasizing the need for diligence at the immigration counter.

Happened to me twice, they were cool with it when I went out to renew the 180 days etc just show them the visa paper with the QR and you'll be sound
Pete *******
I accidentally got a 14 day tourist visa stamp once instead of a 60 day visa exemption.

Unfortunately I didn’t catch it until days later.

ALWAYS check your stamps.

Did you hand them a printed copy of your evisa along with your passport initially?

Anonymous participant that's a mistake. You are to PRINT OUT the Evisa email which has the DTV visa in it.

@James *******

where have you seen this requirement ? It's not even written in the email you receive. If it was that important it would be written in the email and on the visa.
James ********
Those are 3 examples of printing out the DTV Visa when you receive it. There are other Thai Embassies and Consulates which likewise have this posted on their websites for the DTV visa.

Anonymous participant So you showed them the visa on your phone initially before getting the wrong stamp? Or only showed it after you went back to get the stamp corrected?

showed my phone with the dtv and she kept it for filling in the info. I just think they are used to add 60 days and not 180 days

I showed before my phone and all the info is already in the system. Good if you print all your boarding passes. I always show my phone. The world is going paperless. I don't see the need here of printing it
James ********
Anonymous participant you are supposed to PRINT it out.
