Is it easier to be granted the Muay thai or Cooking DTV? Which one is more expensive?

I was planning on getting the Muay Thai DTV, but the cost would be 49k bahts (Muay thai class) + 350$ (application fee) which I find expensive

TLDR : Answer Summary
The discussion revolves around the costs and complexities of obtaining two types of DTV (education) visas in Thailand—one for Muay Thai training and the other for cooking classes. The Muay Thai DTV is reported to cost around 49,000 baht plus a $350 application fee, while options for the Muay Thai courses themselves can be found at lower prices ranging from 12,000 to 15,000 baht. Comparisons are drawn with cooking classes, although specific costs for Cooking DTV are less discussed. Various participants share their experiences and costs associated with different gyms and programs, suggesting that obtaining either visa can be straightforward with the right course and documentation.

Let me guess, if you think that’s expensive you don’t have the 500k in your bank right ?

thanks for your judgmental answer. I do have 500k, but 49k is twice what I would pay in a « non DTV » Muay Thai gym, that’s what makes me say I find it expensive

I am a fan of both, food and fitness. I chose a cooking class as I’m more likely to get injured doing Muay Thai. I don’t want to be injured in Thailand. There’s so much so enjoy!!

Anonymous participant where are you planning on submitting the DTV visa application?

What is your passport nation?

IF you are looking for cheap..

Beware of the Thai Embassy or Consulate which instead of approving the DTV visa for 5 years, issues you a single entry tourist visa for 60+30 days.

It happened... their thinking is you can do 30 classes for Muay Thai training within the 90 days of a SETV single entry tourist visa.

Good Luck 🤞

how long is the course for 49Kthb ? Are you using an agent ? Both are easy to get with right course, cost can vary. You can save 350 USD DIY.

Anonymous participant that's a fair price for 9 months Muay Thai training and the gym has been successful in assisting those by providing the important documents supporting your application.
