Hi.

Anyone applied for a tourist visa in Vientiane before? There's two embassies, is this the right one?

Anything I should know, any problems obtaining one in here?

Thanks.

TLDR : Answer Summary
A user seeks advice about applying for a tourist visa at the Thai consulate in Vientiane, asking for confirmation on which embassy to approach and any potential problems. Community responses confirm the correct location and discuss the ease of the process, mentioning that an agency can assist with applications. Advisers note that an appointment will be required starting February 1st, and previous visitors suggest providing only essential information, primarily a valid address in Thailand.

Just remember that on February 1st. The rules already change and you need to have an appointment ..

Probably the most important thing to note is they require an appointment to be made online from 1 Feb, post about it below.

You go to the Consulate not the Embassy

It's the one linked in the original post at 316 Rue Bourichane. It used to be listed in Google as the "Consulate" but it is corrected to "Embassy of Thailand" now. It is the Consular Section of the Embassy. There are other embassy buildings in Vientiane but you want the one at 316 Rue Bourichane. It is in Vientiane, border is approx 20km away.

Just left there, all good. Really busy from 8am, should've gone 9:30.

No itinerarys or proof or cash, just a valid address in Thailand.

Thanks for your help

I just did mine a week ago. I suppose it's a visa run? They didn't ask anything from me but I used an agency and it's my first time to do visa run.

Vientiane does NOT require proof of funds, proof of onward travel or proof of a hotel booking.

Vientiane is the easiest consulate...no itinerary or proof of funds needed for a tourist visa.

Personally I've never had to show an itinerary nor financials for a tourist visa there.

How pedant are they about itinerary's of travel / do you have to prove financials in the embassy etc?
