Hello, i was wondering if somebody on here has been to the embassy in Phnom penh and the one in Vientiane and which one you would recommend as hassle free? The embassy website for vientiane is all in thai, even when i switch the language to english most of it remains in thai. And how about accommodations around the embassies etc.

TLDR : Answer Summary
The consensus from community members suggests that the Thai embassy in Vientiane is more hassle-free compared to the one in Phnom Penh. Vientiane's consulate is described as user-friendly, with fewer documentation requirements such as the proof of 20,000 baht in a bank account and proof of onward travel. Applications can be processed quickly, providing the passport the next day. Conversely, the Phnom Penh consulate requires more documentation, takes longer to process (up to 3 days), and is not considered user-friendly. Regarding accommodations, it's recommended to stay near the river in Vientiane for access to bars, restaurants, and the night market.

Phnom Penh will ask for more documentation and takes longer Vientiane is the way to go if you stay by the Consulate there is nothing there stay by the river for bars restaurants night market

The thai consulate in Vientiane is the most user friendly thai consulate in S/E Asia to get a single entry tourist visa from. Unlike other consulates that may ask for proof of 20K baht in a bank account, proof of onward travel, proof of hotel booking, the consulate in Vientiane doesn't require any of those things.

You turn your passport in one morning before 11:30 and you pick up your passport the next day after 1:30.

The thai consulate in Phnom Penh is NOT known as a user friendly consulate. They also take 3 days to get your passport back (and even the agents there can't bend the time line). They also require proof of 20K baht in a bank account & proof of onward travel.

Well OK, you may be right. I go for the multi-O marriage and it's a walk in the park, Tourist class could be very different. Thanks for the feedback.

you'd be wring about that, :/ Savannakhet has signage posted stating they require proof of 20K baht in a bank account and proof of onward travel. It's hit or miss if you're gonna get asked there. BUT if you can't meet those requirements give Savannakhet a pass..

Pretty sure that Savannakhet, Laos is as, or more, user-friendly, than Vientiane, just due to the volume of traffic. Getting there can be more complicated, however.

And thatz why i am going to holiday in Siem Reap and not worry about my visa crap. I will head up to Nong Khai and over to Ventianne and get it done there. I freaking hate paperwork anywhere I see it and not having to have it makes me break out into a cold sweat and almost have hope for the human race. LOL

They are both hassle free if you meet all the requirements have all the needed paperwork and check all the boxes...

Vientiane has no requirements ;)
