My husband and I just had our DTVs approved same day at the Taipei office (both Canadian). Applied at 9am, picked up our passports with stamps at 4pm.
We applied individually (him with his own business, me as a freelancer). We printed out our documents at 7/11 and brought the 11000 TWD cash for the application fees.
Besides the usual documentation, we also provided the following based on the success stories were read here:
• A cover letter outlining the nature of our work and how it is conducted remotely
• A resume
• 5 months of bank statements
• I provided printout of my portfolio, a couple of my freelance contracts and invoices
• My husband provided a copy of his business registration
We got there before 9am, and there was only one other person in front of us (everyone else was there for Thai Citizen services). We were asked why we want to travel to Thailand and why we aren’t applying in our home country. Then they insisted we have a Taiwanese number to contact us, but we didn’t have one as we were using data-only eSIMs so we went to grab a couple of SIM cards which set us back an hour.
We rushed back before 12pm to submit everything again, and they said they would call if they needed more documentation, but if we don’t hear back, then to come back at 4pm.
Well, we didn’t get a call so we came back at 4pm and it was approved. If it’s convenient and works for your situation I would recommend the Taipei office.
I would suggest reading the threads here carefully and gather information for your own situation as every office is different. Good luck to anyone else applying!
