FYI. Today, for the first time in six years of residence in Thailand, the immigration police came to look for me at home, took a picture of me with my partner and made her fill out a form, in Thai, that I had to sign jointly with her. I am surprised, frankly. I felt under investigation. At least fifteen Asian immigrants, unknown to the immigration police, have been living in my condo. I mean, I have nothing to hide or any reason to be afraid, I just wonder if paying two men to verify foreigners who are used to do the things according to the rules is not a waste of public money and a merely demagogic action. But that's it. I hope not to be out of topic, sorry.

TLDR : Answer Summary
A resident in Thailand described a surprising visit from the immigration police to their home after six years, during which the police photographed them with their partner and required them to sign a form. The poster questioned the necessity of such actions, especially considering the presence of multiple unknown Asian immigrants in their condo. Several commenters joined the discussion, sharing similar experiences and expressing varying opinions on immigration enforcement in Thailand.
Time to close. I understand the 15 Asian did not share your bed room. but if you are so close with Immigration that you are allowed to check the back ground and reports of Asian people in your area, I would not bother to much about a visit from Immigration.
If you managed to hack their system to find out about illegal Asians than I would start to worry.
Seen this quite a bit recently, and not just for marriage extensions. I myself have been photographed as well as the data page from my passport twice. Once at home and once at the police station. Neither time immigration police.
