Is it okay to stay in Thailand beyond my visa expiration date if I have a 30-day consideration stamp after applying for a renewal?

Just some clarification needed please...

I'm British, married to a Thai, on a 1 year Non-o extension of stay (90 day reports online). 

My extension expires on 6th May and will be renewed at Chaengwattana. 

I'm planning to submit my renewal docs 1 week before & I know I'll then get a 30 day under consideration stamp. 

The 30 day stamp takes me past my 6 May expiry. This is ok, right? I guess the 30 day consideration stamp acts as authority for me to be in thailand beyond 6th May, until I go back and recollect my passport and new stamp?

Just want to be 100% sure
