Is it okay to stay in Thailand beyond my visa expiration date if I have a 30-day consideration stamp after applying for a renewal?

Just some clarification needed please...

I'm British, married to a Thai, on a 1 year Non-o extension of stay (90 day reports online).

My extension expires on 6th May and will be renewed at Chaengwattana.

I'm planning to submit my renewal docs 1 week before & I know I'll then get a 30 day under consideration stamp.

The 30 day stamp takes me past my 6 May expiry. This is ok, right? I guess the 30 day consideration stamp acts as authority for me to be in thailand beyond 6th May, until I go back and recollect my passport and new stamp?

Just want to be 100% sure

Thanks

TLDR : Answer Summary
The user, a British expat married to a Thai, seeks clarification on staying in Thailand beyond their Non-O extension expiration date. They plan to submit renewal documents before their current visa expires and understand that they will receive a 30-day under consideration stamp, allowing them to stay legally in Thailand until they collect their renewed passport. Comments confirm this understanding and provide tips on the application process.

All correct as per Tod said; I advice to go earlier morning to queue up for ticket, it will save you a half-day

yep you understand it correctly

In Bangkok you can apply for a new extension when you have 45 days or less left on your current stamp (so in your case you can apply any time AFTER the March 22) There is no need to wait until your current stamp is almost running out because new extensions are added to the expiration date you have now.

Once you apply for the new extension the 30 day under consideration stamp IS your new "allowed to stay until" stamp and your old extension expiration date doesn't matter.

As long as you meet the requirements you can apply any

just one more thing
@Ja***
as far as the seasoning of funds (if you're using banked money method) you need to have the funds seasoned fully on the date you apply for the extension not the date your current stamp runs out.

take care, stay safe, good luck (y)
