If you've overstayed your visa in Thailand, the first step is to prepare to pay a fine of 500 baht per day, up to a maximum of 20,000 baht. You should visit the immigration office to clarify your situation and pay the required fine before attempting to leave the country. Be aware that overstaying can lead to a travel ban, typically one year for overstays around 365 days. It's beneficial to have a ticket home ready while ensuring you have sufficient funds to cover the fine. Some individuals have suggested contacting immigration agencies, but many warn that such agencies might provide questionable advice. Always check official immigration channels for the most accurate and reliable information.

Listen people I just did it I’ll tell you Any agency or reputable visa service company will tell you depending on how many days you ovrstay how much it will cost. There are two benchmarks one up to 365 days 2, 365 days plus will determine how much you pay and there is a cap on each one. I’ve listen to this , some of it it is complete rubbish.
Don’t listen to what you read go to the website for Thai visas in Phuket or Phuket immigration online don’t Go and talk to a immigration officer that bring problems. Volunteer only immigration. And if you go online you will find the information. I am actually in America because this happened to me. But I overstayed 11 months so I got one yr blacklist and the 20,000 baht fine and that was for 11 months. This just happened to me five weeks ago so do what you need to do don’t listen to everything you read. I am telling you from experience only. READ MY STORY ABOVE. I’ve been to everyone so I know what I’m talking about. It happens often that there are rules for this so don’t worry really because that’s what I found out. if you ever want to talk about this 4 actual hands-on information PM me
did you listen to anyone when here on overstay lol? Especially during Covid when all you needed to do was show up and get the Covid extensions lol. Not the sharpest knife in the drawer.

Get taxi Airport than catch plane home 🤣🤣
Jeff ********
He made me have an 11 month over stay. Not 10 years Unless you’ve overstayed many many years and they catch you. For me it was 20,000 baht at the airport and one year blacklist. It goes one day to 365 one year black list and 366 on more but I just can’t remember all the specs
Get tickets out of Thailand, go to airport, pay the fine up to 20,000 THB and go home. Just don't get caught before check in. Keep in mind you most likely will be blacklisted.
Here we go I will tell you why, so strap yourself in. And since we have FREE speech over here And I am not at all worried about offending anyone or saving face. I will definitely tell you how I was basically RIPPED OFF. Almost a year ago I went to a guy named PEE SOMJET his business is called PHUKET VISA LAW OFFICE Now “law” IS a stretch. HE IS LOCATED ACROSS FROM SOI TA-EID & DIRECTLY ACROSS THE STREET FROM KFC. IN THE BUSINESS AREA, BOTTOM FL. YOU CAN’T MISS IT OR MAYBE YOU SHOULD! THERE IS A LARGE YELLOW SIGN ON TOP!!
I have used him for 7 years & not had a problem but this time I did. He provides or says he provides visa services. Usually that is true. However, this time it was not. Be that as it may I brought my passport in and he said it will be ready in two weeks with my retirement visa. I paid33,800b & thanked him. Two weeks come and go, no visa OK no problem a month goes by OK still no problem. Since it’s Covid-19 I can’t travel because the airports are closed. But My 90 day check in was coming up so I want to make sure at least that was going to be done. He said to me “NO problem”. This is actually part of his services. This having no visa drags on and on and on and I give him the benefit of the doubt because I know it is difficult times with COVID-19. Plus I’ve known him for 7 years. He continually tells me that because of COVID-19 various immigration offices are closed which is true. So again no problem for me as long as my 90 day reporting is being done. (Which he says it is.)
Now I have learned that my mom is in the intensive care unit. Not knowing if she’s going to live or die I contact him on social media because he cannot be reached by telephone. He won’t pick up his phone. Anyway, He is made aware of the situation and shown pictures of her in the hospital attached to oxygen. This information is also sent and given to his secretary just to make sure he received it. Well wouldn’t you know I get no response at all - crickets, nothing, nada, no response whatsoever. (SO I SUMMISE HE DOESN’T GIVE A SHIT) Of course, at this point the visa is not important to me but my passport is. Again communications ensue, phone calls, line application, instant messaging, nothing! So at this point I can only hope for the best. I find out that without my visa I am still able to go to The airport. But I can’t even do that because he has my passport. I would have to pay a hefty fine but I cannot return for one year. Well after 20 years I I have established I self in Thailand so to leave and not come back would affect many people. Not to mention my family. Now I am F’N Pissed! There is literally nothing I can do without my passport or visa so more months go by. I finally get a hold of him and he says my passport and visa will be ready in a particular month and he doesn’t know what day specifically in the month. So the end of that month comes and I get on the bike - (His secretary called and said he’s in his office) so Breaking all the rules and go to the office and wait. So basically, I had to hunt him down. I surprise him @ his office and he says my passport and visa are not there. “What can I do“ at this point I was livid. You can only imagine what I feel like doing but I didn’t. In the background you can see his big screen TV with his commercials on it that say visa, overstay, etc. and how much and no problem. I saw this and was extremely extremely beside myself because after he said “what can I do” I said you are the lawyer what do you mean what can you do. Oh and by the way I find out he’s not a lawyer! He showed me pictures of his graduation which led me to believe he was a lawyer. Wrong wrong wrong! I told him I need to be back in the US and he said you don’t have your visa yet but you can take your passport to the immigration office in the airport and pay the 20,000 b fine and be blacklisted for one year. This is truly what he said to me. I could not believe it! I’ve been waiting almost 9 months for my visa and this is the answer I get. He said he can have my passport back here the following day, but without the visa. I was so incensed I couldn’t think of the words to respond. Of course it took approximately three days to get my passport back and of course no visa. (I thought here we go again)
The passport finally comes back without the visa, (Big surprise there) and even though he said he had been doing my 90 day Reporting he had not. So now I have almost a year overstay and no reporting (Great) I went to the Phuket volunteer immigration services. (Had I gone to a regular immigration officer I would’ve been put in jail and deported immediately.) The volunteer immigration individuals said I should get a ticket and leave that night. They were being a little over cautious but still the statement was not lost on me. I decided to stay a few more months, take my chances and hope I did not run into immigration and get my affairs in order, and retain an attorney as well. Then bought my tickets and left and hoped in the meantime immigration was not on my tail. I went to Phuket international immigration and paid a large fine (20,000b) and I Received my black list for a year and the litigation continues. But I thought I wanted to tell you so you know that a guy named Pee Somjoet of PHUKET VISA “LAW” OFFICE- located directly across from KFC & SOI TAAIED IN CHALONG is very very questionable. To this day I have not received an apology or any thought of returning monies spent for his services to originally get my visa. Be aware please!
all it takes is two bank letters, that only you can get from your bank, filling out the form, go in person, and pay bt1900. Why would someone pay over bt34,000 to do the same thing unless they couldn't meet the requirements...lololol.
the only ones that pay that much for their retirement visa are those people that can not legally meet the financial requirement. It catches up to everyone eventually.

If your more than a few days over PREY you get to the airport it's not too bad max fine 20k bht if you stopped before I've heard your looking at being blacklisted for up to 10years
Bobby ********
Ian Stanley. Correct. In theory, if stopped by police at a checkpoint one day overstay can result in a five year ban
do you know if is it true that it is different for children under 15?
Bobby ********
Catherine Jacobs Jadin. As Michael says, although it's still an immigration offence, there's no fines or other penalties for kids (and the parents are not held liable either)
I’ve heard that many times but I’ve never seen this chart and I had to ask. 😮💨

Overstayed by how many days? Are you in Thailand now or abroad? Have you been blacklisted or did you make away with a fine and an overstay stamp? You are providing so many details that's so easy to understand. Try being more terse 🙋♀️
Ban is mandatory if you're caught by police on overstay
Mark ********
Happens more often than you might think....you obviously haven't been to immigration detention recently have you?
Bobby ********
Mark Barron. My cousin was in IDC. Said it was the most humiliating experience of his life, and he's in his 70's. Arrested after a "trustworthy" agent got nailed. Because he had a dodgy extension, immigration police went back to his previous legal extension and charged him on about six months overstay. He's out for five years
I have to agree. I have seen the inside of the IDC and I hope beyond hope that I will never be held there myself.
That is why I always deal with my own immigration, am a member of this group so I can get the best advice if something does go wrong and will never go near a visa agent of any kind.
Buy a plane ticket home and make sure you have enough money to pay your fine when you go through passport control at airport when you catch it. 500b a day
Carsten ************
fill some brown envelope and get in touch with some agency
to summarize the chart, one could overstay 364 days, pay a 20k fine on exit, be banned for one year. Not a bad deal lol. A lot cheaper than some agent visas. Just don’t get caught lol
no point speaking to you. If he's overstayed for over 6 months he'll get a ban. If you know your immigration officers you work out a way to avoid it. Obviously you've not had good experiences with immigration. Come Hua hin I'll introduce you
Bobby ********
Sam Lloyd. 90 days actually is the line in the sand. I've had terrific experiences with immigration because I do the right thing. I know plenty who haven't.
always sort your overstay with immigration before you go airport. Last thing you want is to miss you flight. It's common sense. A week whatever but months is a no no
Bobby ********
Sam Lloyd. You NEVER go to immigration if you're on overstay. You can be arrested in an immigration office. At the airport, it's pay up and be gone. You're giving absolute total crap advice here
