I booked my return flight in UK, but miscalculated my days. This means I’ve got a one day overstay. I know there’s a ฿500 fine, but can anyone advise me what I do at the airport when leaving?

TLDR : Answer Summary
If you have a one-day overstay in Thailand, there is generally no fine when you fly out of the country. You will likely receive a stamp next to your departure stamp indicating "overstay under 24 hours fine waived". It's advisable to visit the immigration desk before passport control, explain your situation politely, and they will likely allow you to continue your departure without issues.
Okay, listen up, they DO NOT FINE people for an overstay of under 24 hours when you FLY OUT of the country.
The DO fine you for all overstays when you stamp out by land..
Good luck to the O/P, they are far from the first foreigner to find out in thailand a 30 day free stamp is actually good for 29 days 😮 (the day you arrive no matter the time is day ONE)

I did this same thing... go to immigration desk (thinks its just before passport control). Tell them you are really sorry, you got your dates mixed up. They will let you through no problems. I think they like it when you declare your mistake - give them a wai and all will be good.
Flight time 13.15, I think I’ll just take the hit, if they fine me so be it.

As a general rule when FLYING out on an overstay of under 24 hours there is no fine, and they don't even put an overstay stamp in your passport, just a stamp next to your departure stamp saying "overstay under 24 hours fine waived" and it's in thai 😛
