Hello!

I’m due to fly out 2 days after my visa expires. Do I just pay the overstay at immigration as I leave BKK? Is there anything else I need to do or know before I get there? Thank you for your time in advance πŸ™πŸΎπŸ’œ

TLDR : Answer Summary
If you are flying out of Thailand two days after your visa expires, you can pay the overstay fine at immigration when leaving. The fine is 500 baht per day, so for two days, it will be 1000 baht. It's important to arrive at the airport with extra time to accommodate paying the fine and receiving the overstay stamp in your passport. Ensure you avoid any trouble or encounters with police during your overstay period, as this can complicate your situation further.

and before this topic turns into a lecture by other members of how an overstay is bad, you should have planned better, blah-blah-blah. I'll close the comments. You have the answer you need.

But dont get into any trouble while your visa has expired. I heard police take a dim view of over stay and give fines. Just what i heard.

Yep, it'll be 500 baht per day in fines so 1000baht, allow yourself some extra time at the airport to pay the fine and get the overstay stamp in your passport.

Make sure you DON'T come off the rails (get caught out on something else) while you're on overstay BEFORE you get to the airport for your flight.

That's when things can unravel really fast
