TLDR : Answer Summary
The best course of action when your visa is about to expire is to seek an extension from the local immigration office rather than risk overstaying. The fine for overstaying in Thailand is 500 baht per day, which can amount to 2,500 baht for five days. An extension costs 1,900 baht and can save you both money and potential problems, such as receiving an overstay stamp in your passport and facing legal issues if stopped by authorities.

Obviously you new you had 30 days why did you book a flight out in 35 days get an extension you don’t want an overstay stamp for future trips to anywhere

Not the fine part it is the overstay Stamp in Passport

Get an extension. Will save you money, and overstay stamp in your passport plus if the police stop you in those 5 days, jail & deportation.

You can it will cost ฿2,500 in fees for overstays (฿500 per day of overstay)…or…you can go to your local immigration office and apply for a 30 day extension for ฿1,900, save ฿600 along with time at the airport…good luck
Always best to avoid overstay. Fine is 500 baht per day. If the police stop you on overstay things can get ugly for you. Doesn’t happen often but it does happen.
An extension from immigration is 1,900.
