TLDR : Answer Summary
If you are one day late renewing your visa in Thailand, you can expect to pay a fine of 500 baht per day of overstay, along with receiving an overstay stamp in your passport. Generally, the fine is considered a standard procedure, and it is recommended to handle it promptly to avoid further complications.

After 1000 baht fine for 2 day overstay the difference is 900. Its hardly worth trying to save 900 when if you get picked up while on overstay it can cause a lot more problems than its worth. There were recent reports of some people being picked up in the airport terminal itself before getting to passport control. Safer to get that extension IMO.

I have a question. My visa ends on the 19th February and my flight to go back home is on the 21th. Is there a more affordable way that just extending 30 days visa for 1900bath? I feel is too much for just 2 days that I need extension
the stamp at the top is possibly an overstay stamp as it has '1' written on it which I assume represents the number of days you overstayed. I'm just guessing though. Its a bugger as when I booked our flights I didn't calculate the exact number of days we'd be here. The day we fly home will be 61 days🤦🏽♀️
it’s unusual to get a fine at the airport if the overstay is less than 24 hours but it can happen. Usually you get a stamp in Thai that says “overstay fine waived as under 24 hours”. 100% you will be fined at a land border.
yes it can happen. It’s up to the individual officer whether they impose the fine. Usually for an overstay under 24 hours they don’t at an airport but shit happens. They will 100% at a land border.
I heard it's permanent deportation to your first documented ancesters port of origin. So if your great grandfather was from Yugoslavia, that's where you'll be deported to.
I wouldn't be sure that the Thai immigration knows the difference between Kosovo, Croatia, Serbia, Montenegro and North Macedonia.. I guess they'd just throw a dart at the map and send you where it lands.
Immigration generously granted an extension despite the overstay: they issued a 30 days touristic extension for 1900.- THB, however minus ONE day. And the 500.- THB overstay fine came on top of it . . . He's the lucky winner, now he is good until March 2nd
Distract the officer and try a jedi mind trick so he/she wont realise and will just stamp it and wave you on through to avoid the overstay fine.

No big deal but it's not good to have overstay stamp of any description but can be lucky and no overstay recorded but no guarantee its thailand possible 500baht fine per day overstay at best at worst possible extended free holiday at the pleasure of thai government in the Bangkok Hilton Chokh di 🤣🤣🤣

you could visit Immigration and try to obtain the 30-days touristic extension you are eligible ONCE, with a visa-exempt entry. For the 1900.- THB fee, they might be willing to issue the extension minus one day. However I cannot guarantee this. They might also propose you leave the country ASAP and pay the overstay fine at the airport.
Glen Scott The ‘overstay’ is recorded on your passport, so while this is meaningless in Thailand (ie. not likely to cause you any issues in the future when returning to Thailand) personally I would renew my passport as soon as possible … it can cause issues with other countries if any immigration officer notices the overstay stamp … certainly not guaranteed to cause issue, but it does happen (my sister in law had a 1 day overstay in South Korea and was refused entry to Japan, at the airport immigration, because of it.)
Just something to consider … as I saw this can happen ‘first’ hand I personally, if necessary, would have a little ‘coffee’ accident and get a new passport.
the TM30 is the registration of you in any accommodation, must be done by the hotel or the landlord within 24 hours of your arrival at the accommodation . . . . . .in case you were not asked for the receipt, you can call yourself double lucky!
well you would have to spent the 1900.- THB on top of the 500.- THB by any means. On Immigration they might insist you take the 30 minus 1 -days extension OR the "application denied you have 7 days to leave the kingdom" stamp. Both will cost a 1900.- THB fee

No worries, heading to the immigration office now.
last trip over here, last year, I didn’t realise I departed one day over my visa expiration. I didn’t get an overstay stamp nor was I charged 500 Baht. I was just lucky I guess; honest mistake.
nope, nothing. I didn’t even notice I was a day over until much later, going thru my passport. No stamp, no waiver. My guess is the IO just wrote me off as “clueless” and waived me through🤣😅
