Can I still extend my Thai visa if I'm one day overstay?

I was heading over to extend my visa for another 30 days today. And realized it's showing 4th. Which is 29 days not 30.

So I'm now over one day. Is there any point of me going in and attempting extension?

Will the reject me right away ?

TLDR : Answer Summary
A person inquired about extending their Thai visa and realized they were one day over their allowed stay. The community suggested that while a 500 baht fine would typically be applied for the one-day overstay, many immigration offices are lenient, especially if the overstay happens over a weekend. It's generally advised to proceed with the extension request, as no immediate rejection is likely. Overall, members discussed counting days for the visa, emphasizing that the day of arrival counts as day one, and shared personal experiences regarding similar situations.

Thay shows 30 days. The day of arrival counts and Jan has 31 days.

Arrival and departure dates both count in full. This is different from how for instance Vietnam counts the days. It yields you a full day less. But it is 30 calendar days.

Normally you don’t have to pay for overstay, because it was a weekend

Yer it's usually 29 days.

Of course, they will still extend you. It would usually incur a one day overstay fine of 500 baht, but in most if not all immigration offices, they will not fine you on a Monday, if your visa finished on the weekend.

Go, you'll be fine (trust me I've made countless visa extensions over the last 12 years, more than a few on a slight overstay)

It's not 'usually 29 days'; it's ALWAYS 30 days. Day one is the day you land regardless of time. But yes, agree, they can just go and extend. Possible 500 baht fine, but they may let it go.

fucking hell I gave the most solid piece of advice on here, and some bellend still has to give it a go.

Regardless, 30 days or 29 days, I've never even counted, I just look at the stamp in my passport and make a mental note of it.

If you go today, as they aren't open Sundays, you can still get the 30 days extension without a fine.

If you got tomorrow you will have overstay fine of 500b per day.

The day you arrive counts as day 1.

You can still apply for an extension. You'll be fined 500 baht per day for overstay, still receive an overstay stamp in your passport, and your extension will be backdated to when your entry stamp expired.

a question if I may Brandon? it is my understanding that a visa is used when you enter and replaced with a permission to stay. If this is correct is it not the permission to stay we are extending?

yes you're applying for an extension of your entry stamp. Not truly an extension of your visa. But it's easier to just classify things as visa or extension.
