yes I remember in the beginning it was incredible fast, from same day to max 4 days. I was really impressed and happy about the convenience.

Now it looks more like a vicious game of chance, to catch people unaware [like me].

yes you are right, logic or common sense doesn't apply and my mistake for foolishly assuming it would.

I just got really lucky so far, that they always approved just in time, as I would have been in trouble otherwise.

I wonder why that is, a bit like a gamble every time, with their inconsistant approval times.

I remember doing it by letter mail once, proper 1 month before due date [by EMS sending date applies, not reception date], took them nearly 2 months to sent back the receipt, after many calls to them, but no fine, because I sent the application on time.

Shouldn't the same logic apply for the online process?

that is good to know, but quite illogical and challenging though, I usually apply a week before due date and once it took nearly 2 weeks to get finally the new receipt, on the very last day for me to go in person, without fine. Naughty game they play there.

yes he's got the application confirmed, but new receipt is pending. Which I know can take usually a few days. Shouldn't that mean he's off the hook fine wise, if the receipt comes late?

he still has the damaged and cancelled one, with only the first 2-3 pages being eligible.

sorry one more - what about if the passport is so damaged that he can't supply any of the photocopies asked for?
