So here's my post, I'm traveling with my wife to our home (her house) in BKK, we will stay there for 4 days before we bounce to her parents house in NE Thailand for a week, then we go to chiang mai for 4 days, then to puket for a week , back to bkk for a few days and then to Vietnam for 4 days, back to bkk for a few days and then back to her parents in NE Thailand for a few days and then who knows where we will go as we are there for 6 weeks. How many TM30s do I need to fill out as we are staying with family for part of the trip and at our own home for part of the trip along with hotels.

Thanks in advance

TLDR : Answer Summary
The TM30 form is typically the responsibility of the property owner to report, not the traveler. In the case of the user's itinerary, their wife and parents would need to report their stays at family homes, while hotels would handle reporting for the nights spent there. Given their travel plan of 6 weeks, as long as they hold a 2-month tourist visa and their stay does not exceed this, they are unlikely to face checks. The general consensus in the comments indicates that no TM30 forms need to be filled out by the user for their journey.

As long as you have a 2 month tourist visa and only staying for 6 weeks you won’t need a TM30 as you won’t need to extend. The hotels will report automatically but they never check at the

Airports.

I believe I will get 30 days then bounce out to Nam for 4 days and then get another 30 upon reentry. Is that correct.

My goal is to seed my retirement there by opening a bank account and starting the process so in a few years I can make the transition as seamless as possible. Anything else I need to know besides the income requirements ? Like which visa the 0 or non o? I am not elite status so that's out but I will have a steady income to meet requirements.

More importantly, why would anyone go to Phuket?

I happen to enjoy the phuket, patong beach atmosphere. It's fun,, it's sexy, it's quirky and all I have seen are people enjoying their lives around me when I visit, so the question to you good sir is why not visit phuket?

And the worst thing that can happen is 2,000฿ fine 🤷‍♂️ Think reasonable amount comparing to the costs of the whole holiday....

The hotels will report you there! Essentially I have similar questions in my mind because I have condo in pattaya and I generate my own tm30, I will go to BKK for a week and I hope the hotel will generate the TM30! When I get home I will generate my own tm30 again. I want to have two homes and I wonder how they would keep track of since I will (legally) need to genearte tm30 when I move between homes but how the hell would they know if I did not tell them!

. I've had same home adress on tm 30 for years. I've travelled around inside Thailand many timesand never had to redo it. A couple of years ago they changed the rule and a new tm30 is only required if you leave thailand and re enter. It used to be whenever you stayed away from tm30 adress but they finally saw how stupid it was and changed it.

It was stated in Royal Gazette of the change.

ok, thanks. the tm30 is stupid. It does not actually achieve anything, as you have said!

Will you be doing an extension or 90 day report? If not don't worry.

@Graham *****
yes i will be doing 90 day reports!

@Graham ******
Not until 80-90 days after you return from Vietnam and then only if you don't leave Thailand in the meantime

Legally it's the property owner that does the report. So your wife would have to report you going there, the parents would have to report you going there. The hotels would have to report you going there.

Realistically based on your itinerary, you won't be going to immigration at all while you're here. So you're never going to need proof of a TM30. So you don't worry about it.

in a nutshell, just coming into Thailand from USA and coming back from Vietnam, correct?

@John **********
in a nutshell you don't need to do it at all. The ONLY time you need a TM30 is if you're going to an immigration office to apply for something. It doesn't look like you need that.
