I have a family emergency in Bkk, what is the reasonable cost of a 15 day insurance policy.

I'm getting 2,178 Thb quote from AXA that meets the 20,000$ TP requirement.

Is this the fair market value for a 15 day policy or does anyone have any other companies that are cheaper.

My second question is about being unvaccinated.

Can an unvaccinated person be in Thailand?

If so what are the quarantine requirements for the unvaccinated traveler over 50 years old.

Thanks for your help.

My Father in law had a cerebral event and could turn into a Sentinel event.

I need to go there from the states rather quickly.

Thanks for any advice.

I think AXA charges the same if you are 30 or if you are 70, if you are vaccinated, not vaccinated, from one place or any other. Nothing seems to effect the cost of AXA, even when the minimum required coverage was 50,000USD AXA charged the same.

If you are getting insurance strictly for the purpose of ThaiPass, choose any other.

I don’t think it matters if it is 15 or 30. The price is for 30 days in total. There is no shorter time to be bought.

Quarantine on arrival, for unvaxxed is currently 10 days but due to drop to 5 days, possibly from 1st April. But just book as it stands and you should be refunded if it changes. I was in November. Choose a reliable quarantine hotel.

5 days, are you sure? I've been looking for that but all I can find is no test to enter Thailand on April 1st

the 5 days is not yet official so you can't rely on that, and it will only be for entry after 1st April if it comes in. The only test that is being dropped is the pre flight test and you need to test before leaving quarantine too.

Try Mister Prakan.

I'm not sure there is any allowance for emergencies. Assuming not your not going to get here very quickly. You need to get a Thai pass after booking flight and this can take around a week plus you're going to have to quarantine for 10 days on arrival in Thailand.

The price should be for 30 days:

I would consider getting J&J if I was in your situation and discuss with the local Thai embassy how to proceed.

Insurance is available in many forms if you have a US one that can give you overseas cert for the amount stated for covid that can be used. Else just buy any recommended in this group.

That quote sounds reasonable if your unvaccinated you will have to do quarantine in a SHA hotel and fill out a Thailand Pass (TP) application which can take 7 days to receive your Thailand Pass (TP) QR code without this you can not enter Thailand

Yes, the insurance quote sounds about normal. Just read the fine print on what actually is covered. Some are a bit sneaky with the wording.
