I have Schwab and Citibank and I get spot fx rate and no fees. I’ve been using these for eight years. Khrunsri never charges any fees and I use Wise for my monthly usage.

I’m lucky enough to have Citi bank and all fees are waived for international transfers.

there’s no ATM fees for taking out money with a Thai debit card from a thai bank.

I didn’t say debit card. I said I pay for most everything with my credit card. Groceries, gas, restaurants, hotels etc…

My debit card is from my Thai bank account so no fees there either.

ok idiot, I’ve lived here in Thailand for eight years and use my American Citi bank card daily. I never have fees and Im getting spot on the exchange rate. They take it most places.

So if you’re not a credit card expert maybe keep your BS opinions to yourself. You don’t know shit! 💩

I use my credit card for everything and the rate is good and rarely are there any fees.

When I came to Thailand I acquired an OA visa in Los Angeles. It made everything a lot easier, when moving to Thailand a couple months later. I was able to bring in 800,000 and open a bank account the day after I arrived. The next year I transferred to the Non O in Thailand and had everything set up from before. Now they require you to have health insurance but that wasn’t a deal breaker for me. And why would anyone move to a foreign country without health insurance? You can get basic in hospital coverage for one hundred dollars a month for the minimum requirement. I’m 70 and my health insurance is $150 usd a month now for $200,000 in coverage.

I used Airbnb by the month rather than sign a lease. A bit more expensive but no hassle and no deposit.
