I think then you would be covered as someone who arrived after March 1 to get automatic extensions on the earlier proposal if that one is passed as well.
I think it is to be read everyone whose visa expired after the 26th (and not the date of the report) and reported to extend them would have automatic extensions, but am not sure. Why don't they just decide on blanket extensions no matter the date to simplify things? I know why TiT, but it's ridiculous.
Yeah they started slowly, but since have been quite quick to respond. First one that didn't work was standard one and took 72 hours. Second one, personal one took 24. Do we need additional personal letters for each emergency extension? Anyone know?
Yeah this only covers tourist visas and they will not need to extend until the end of April so in other words it will be completely pointless in terms of what they say they are doing.
So only for the people who entered on tourist visas and won't be needing to extend until the end of April. So this is really completely pointless in terms of lessening the length of the queues, and helping people who need emergency extensions.
It is good that at least they are getting this. I don't begrudge them it. I am just very frustrated with the inadequate measures of this government. Good luck with whatever you are dealing with in this time.
They could just grant automatic extensions and have us pay on the way out the door 1900 baht per month, or remove the punitive aspects of overstay and just collect our cash when we leave. Things can be done which still get them all the cash and still help us.
