you guys still use the cards magnetic band, you use cheques!, you pay for bank transfers and they take days! We have magnetic chip and touch in the card, we don't pay for international bank transfers and they are instant!

As long as you have any visa that's over a year you'll be fine opening by yourself, just did last week in BKK at kasikorn (supposedly impossible)

I'm always reading how hard it is to open an account, walked to a kasikorn few days ago and was out in 30 mins with my account.. ED Visa even.. as long as you have the documents you're fine.
