I think Indians get the 7 extension by default when they pay the 1900thb fee and apply for an extension.

The last time I needed an extension. I arrived at 11:50. Got a ticket, filled out the form. My number was already called! The officer asked me to wait for a few minutes while they were asking people to step out of the waiting area for lunch.

I left at 12:03 with my extension stamp!

Just remember the queue for people who are extending their 60 day visa is totally different from the ones waiting to extend their 30 days visa exempt.

It’s always much shorter for the visa people.

You’re missing my point. What use is the re-entry permit if it doesn’t guarantee entry?

Robert Lagas what good is the re-entry permit then?

I have 27 days left on my Visa exempt entry. If I get an extension on that - it’s +30. So a total of 57.

If got a re-entry permit at the airport and flew out - how does the re-entry permit help at all when I fly back?

Isn’t it supposed to allow me in minus the number of days I spend outside?

My question is:

If I fly out of the country with a re-entry permit (on a visa exempt entry plus extension). When I return in a week am I guaranteed entry because I have a re-entry permit?

@Tod ********
should I just use up my last border run of the year instead? Or would you suggest trying to get the visa first?

Visa Exempts + Extensions: Thrice; original entry. Flew to China then extended. Flew to Indonesia then extended.

No Visas in passport.

In Thailand since April. Visa exempts + extensions and 1 border run + extension.

Passport is US.

Have you tried using Nok Air? They have a fly and drive service. That’s always been on time for me so far.

They fly you to Udon Thani then co-ordinate your land border crossing with their vans and drop you off in Vientiane.

They do the reverse on the way back if you need it. Really helpful if you want to do a visa + border run.
