How can my mom extend her 60-day tourist visa for an additional 30 days in Bangkok?

Pretty pedantic question - my mom entered on a 60 day tourist visa and needs to renew for another 30 days. How and when should she best go about this in Bangkok? The visa is valid until Jan 3rd, but she entered on November 9th with the Used stamp.

TLDR : Answer Summary
Your mom can apply for a 30-day Extension of Stay at the Bangkok Immigration Office before her current 60-day tourist visa expires on January 3rd. It's recommended to visit on a weekday, ideally between 9:15 and 9:30 AM to avoid crowds, especially on Mondays and Fridays. Alternatively, she can use the services at Bumrungrad Hospital for the extension, which requires an initial paperwork drop-off on a weekday and a return visit on Saturday. The total fees vary based on whether you go directly on Saturday or prepare in advance. Make sure to check for any holidays when the immigration office may be closed.

The last time I needed an extension. I arrived at 11:50. Got a ticket, filled out the form. My number was already called! The officer asked me to wait for a few minutes while they were asking people to step out of the waiting area for lunch.

I left at 12:03 with my extension stamp!

Just remember the queue for people who are extending their 60 day visa is totally different from the ones waiting to extend their 30 days visa exempt.

It’s always much shorter for the visa people.

You can search

Bumrungrad hospital at the top of the page.

Just called the Bumrungrad Business Center to check the prices of the 30 day extension. IF you show up during the week, let them get the documents ready and then show back up on Saturday it's 3000baht, BUT if you just walk in on Saturday without having shown up first during the week they charge 3500baht

So in addition to the 1900baht fee for the extension the service charge is 1100baht if you show up early, then go back on Saturday for your appointment, and 1600baht if you just walk in on a Saturday for the 30 day extension.

You could take your mum to Bumrungrad hospital drop of the paper work Monday to Friday

And go back Saturday for you 30 day extension.

There is a extra fee but i can't remember how much i paid now.

@Emma ******
, go when ever you want to apply for a 30 day extension on the 60 day tourist visa stamp.

The good thing is tourists as a general rule don't get up early.

I'd say avoid Monday and Fridays (as those are busy) and show up about 9:15-9:30 (after the morning herd gets in) and you guys should get thru with your extension before 10:30 or so.

The section that does tourist visa extensions is SLAMMED with people in the afternoon so beware of that.
