The company never hired a foreigner , ok understood , but they must have hired a sensible thai HR who can wade across thai DOL or immigration websites to figure that out for you.

Your best bet with Russian pport , 60 days T visa from any nearby Thai consulate and thn 30 days extn at local CW immi. Play that ( 90 days) game 3 4 times with diff consulates and u will be able to stay another year I guess.Enough to find a job in the mean time.

If you don't have paperwork ,yes , you will get crazy prices going upto 90K. However , even with paerwork diff agencies will quote differently. Going by urself or by the help of yr employer is the cheapest.

U have to go to local immi here and for 1900B u will get a denied extn stamp which will be 7 days extn.

What kind of visa u arriving ? if its a VOA only 7 days extn. If it's a 60 days SETV then can be converted to 90 days Non immi. of other types provided u hve paperwork.
