I have a WP based on my teaching job, now I did my fitness certification here in Bkk and I am getting (not too many , but 2 or 3 ) offers of personal training which I would love to take as practical exp as I am a fresh meat in fitness industry. Do I really need a permission from my primary employer to get my "extra work" listed in my WP ( from DOL) or it's a mai pen lai affair ?

TLDR : Answer Summary
If you hold a work permit (WP) with one employer and want to take on additional work (like personal training), you require written permission from your primary employer to add this job to your work permit. Working without this permission can lead to severe consequences, including fines or deportation.

If you hold a work permit with one employer in it, and you're gonna work somewhere else too you do indeed need written permission from the primary employer to get another one added to your work permit.

I know a few people here who do consulting and who have 4 or 5 companies listed on their work permit book.

Pattaya immigration threatening deportation and blacklisting for WP offences. There is no mood in the country anymore for working when you shouldn't be.

You need if you want to work as personal trainer legally a work permit, you can add this job and location in your work permit if your current employer agrees. It is mai pen lai affair till you get checked out and fined between 10.000 and 100.000 Thb and/or 5 years in jail.
