Business Visas - B Visas do not come alone. There needs to be a Work Permit that is issued by the Ministry of Labor. The B Visa and WP are intertwined and must be processed in a prescribed sequence. The initial B Visa 90 days may have to come from a Thai Embassy/Consulate in a nearby country. A one year Extension of Stay based on the B-Visa is processed by Thai Immigration.

If you don't have paperwork ,yes , you will get crazy prices going upto 90K. However , even with paerwork diff agencies will quote differently. Going by urself or by the help of yr employer is the cheapest.

As a rule people who need Non-B visas either are going to work for a company that supplies the documentation OR are opening their own company and their accountant or lawyer supplies the documentation.
