your gf have education and current work status? If she was applying for a Canadian visitor permit how did she get a US Visa? Two different countries ? Something not right?

mentioning him is a big issue and guaranteed to get her a rejection. She will need proof of funds for hotel, air travel and itinerary. If he is mentioned then will have to sponsor and that’s a whole different can of worms and opens him up to some high cost and she will have to apply under a spousal visa.

don’t want you to waste money or time. Just enjoy her in Thailand. Spend that money doing something fun. I was successful only because my gf had a successful business and she did it ALL on her own. The requirements are pretty straight forward. You don’t have to say but can you give is a little detail about your gf!

As many have mentioned if she doesn’t have significant Thai assets, business(s) education and or professional career don’t even try. If she does and has no plan on staying then have her do it herself. If she mentions anything about you (boyfriend) then for sure you’re sunk.

thank you. You are very correct and if that “remittance” is taxed depends on the individuals situation. Simply saying ATM withdrawals is taxable in Thailand is plain stupid.

Assessable Income: Any earned income that is eligible for taxation such as salary, dividends, or rental property income. Once your total assessable income is calculated, the amount of payable tax you owe will be determined by your net income according to the tax bracket. Income that is not assessable does not contribute to your total and does not affect your tax bracket.

Money taken from an ATM is not necessarily income sir. Maybe you should read what I said and do a little research yourself.

it’s called income tax for a reason. Taking money from an ATM isn’t “income”. Income is something that is “earned” and that is what is taxed.

funny. I almost gave up on them but recently they have been great. I’m working in Europe, I’m CAD and live Thailand . My green wide card has been absolutely great. Funny thing is I cannot use it in Canada.
