I need a visitor visa for my girlfriend. I will be there beginning of November for 6 months and want to bring her back to Canada at the end of April for 6 months. Is it possible? Is there someone who can help me with this?

TLDR : Answer Summary
The discussion highlights significant challenges associated with obtaining a visitor visa for a Thai national intending to visit Canada. Many participants emphasize the importance of demonstrating strong ties to Thailand, such as a solid job, property ownership, or family connections, to improve the chances of a successful application. Previous experiences shared by others reflect that the process can often be lengthy, difficult, and costly, with some facing rejections despite substantial efforts. It is suggested that the girlfriend should initiate her application independently, emphasizing her ties to Thailand rather than the relationship, to avoid complications.

As many have mentioned if she doesn’t have significant Thai assets, business(s) education and or professional career don’t even try. If she does and has no plan on staying then have her do it herself. If she mentions anything about you (boyfriend) then for sure you’re sunk.

She owns land, but I am getting her to quit her job to be with me. Maybe not such a good plan. I do plan on marrying her.. Not sure if that will help for next year.

she should apply while working. Need a letter from you that you will be supporting her while she’s in Canada. When she goes to the embassy she should bring all necessary paperwork that will show she has reason to return to Thailand. Land documents, if she owns a vehicle, bring the ownership, proof of working. Anything that will show she will leave Canada because of ties in Thailand. 🇹🇭

mentioning him is a big issue and guaranteed to get her a rejection. She will need proof of funds for hotel, air travel and itinerary. If he is mentioned then will have to sponsor and that’s a whole different can of worms and opens him up to some high cost and she will have to apply under a spousal visa.

that’s what we did. Letter from me, she showed her land documents, her university diploma and her current work status. No issues at all. She got it on the first try. Didn’t use an agent. She did it herself in Bangkok. I wasn’t there. She also got a US visa so we could travel to Florida. Her family isn’t rich.

your gf have education and current work status? If she was applying for a Canadian visitor permit how did she get a US Visa? Two different countries ? Something not right?

don’t want you to waste money or time. Just enjoy her in Thailand. Spend that money doing something fun. I was successful only because my gf had a successful business and she did it ALL on her own. The requirements are pretty straight forward. You don’t have to say but can you give is a little detail about your gf!

It’ll take you longer than that have her apply now by herself

It’s not easy for a regular Thai to get a tourist visa to western countries. But good luck to you.

Very difficult and very expansive. I try before n was rejected. Lost $5000 Canadian in the process. Good luck.

Lots of really good content on YouTube. I just did two US b1 b2 Visas both successful. Research, give them what they want and you will be successful

I did it on my own, my GF (now my wife) got a 10 year multiple entry visitor visa. Whether it's difficult depends on your gf's circumstances. Does she have proper employment, owns property etc. I also helped my wife's niece, she now has a 10 year visa.

At the start you need a good honest Canadian agent who is familiar with the way it works in Canada.

an agent doesn't really help. If her circumstances are weak, an agent is unlikely to make a difference. If her circumstances are strong, it's easy to do it without an agent.

Thanks Craig.Your opinion is valid of course for you. However I applied 3 times befire I finally and for Canada a Cdn visa and PRC. First time it was by myself, second time with a totally useless Thai agent, third time success with a brilliant Cdn agent. So in my case it worked wonders to have an honest, knowledgeable hard working professional help me.

hi Mark - my comment may have been a bit harsh! That's great that you found a good agent - I think that is the challenge (lots of hackers). I found a very useful web forum - it was sponsored by a Canadian law firm but there was no pressure to engage them and they respond to forum questions for no charge. It helped me immensely. canadavisa.com

Being able to show solid ties to Thailand is crucial- proof of income, for example.

Not Canada but Thai passport holder’s credit. Many Thai intentionally overstayed visa weaken Thai passports as a whole. The USA also having hight rates of overstayed.
