Why is my girlfriend being charged a fee by Bangkok Bank for receiving my wire transfer?

Gethin Evans I also use Wise to transfer money to Thailand from the UK. As long as you keep the amounts at less than £1,000 there is no other fee and the transfer takes minutes to arrive in Thailand. However anything over £1,000 and the transfer will incur an additional fee in Thailand and usually takes a few days to clear.
