£1900 for spouse visa + £3600 for NHS surcharge , A1 test , tb test need to be done 1st before submitting application these vary in price depending where you book the appointments , biometrics are included in the visa fees but some places also charge for this , we submitted my wife’s in January & got her passport back with travel visa at the end of march ,it should only be a 3 month turnaround.
If visa unsuccessful you don’t get any of the fees back and when you go to apply again you have to re pay everything
My wife is Chinese Thai , from southern Thailand , paid a dowry but was given back to us at the end of the night , all money in envelopes from guests too , I wasn’t expecting the dowry back & gave my in-laws 2ooK back as a thank you , my wife has a degree from university which she got a government loan to put herself through Uni , we don’t give her parents money but between her & her 2 sisters we pay the household bills.
18.5 k minimum income just now but rising to 38K at some point come spring , also now you have to pay international health surcharge when getting spouse visa so that’s another 2K on top of visa fee 🙄 (get to to Calais and onto a boat , she’ll get a nice house & benefits without jumping through hoops & spending a fortune if only we could eh )
Brian Ramsden Issan lawyers for you , all English speaking , paying for an unfinished house in Thailand though , there may be trouble ahead , is the builder a relative of the wife?
