Yah no 180 days rule but that's still what some IO will tell you either for corruption or cuz they want to fuck with u. The actual denial is usually listed as lack of funds or illegal work.

Starting a business in Thailand seems to be the only stable option I have heard besides married visa, but that's sort of locked to the Changwat you choose I suppose

I have money no need for work. I used a business visa few years ago, they told me not to apply for it again. Elite visa scared they will change the rules after money is paid, as are many.
